REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION: Strengthening the community services sector

Community Connections offers Professional Development and Training Services throughout South West Victoria. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we run nationally recognised, cost effective courses for people working across the community services sector. We aim to become a central point for local workers and other stakeholders who seek information, high quality learning and professional development.

Community Connections promotes ongoing analysis of current practise issues and learning needs within the community services sector. This ensures the region's learning and development activities are current, relevant and practical, while improving outcomes for clients by enhancing the quality of care provided. The program's learning and development activities include training programs, seminars and workshops.

Goals of Professional Development and Training Services are to:

    • •strengthen the community services sector
    • •provide high quality training, supervision and support to workers and stakeholders
      •contribute to the development and maintenance of a skilled and stable workforce
      •commitment to and development of a lifelong learning culture in the workplace
      •support the development of appropriate services to children, young people and their families
      •promote cultural sensitivity and awareness throughout all training and in learning materials

RTO details

Community Connections achieved RTO status by meeting the Australian Quality Training Framework 2007 (AQTF 2007) standards. All RTOs must meet these standards to ensure the quality of Vocational Education and Training (VET) services throughout Australia. RTOs must renew their registration at least every five years, and audits can occur at any time to confirm the continued compliance of the standards. Community Connections registration number is 22420.
