Help to become a better parent or carer In the days when all the generations in a family lived together, parents and carers had plenty of people around them for baby-sitting, parenting support, giving tips and setting examples. Nowdays our communities are generally more separated, families are often distanced geographically or emotionally, and children seem to be growing up fast. Community Connections offers a range of services and programs that will help parents and carers to develop new skills and strategies, or to re-build confidence in existing skills. Services we provide include: Family Counselling - to help families to identify the issues and to provide options for families to improve or manage their issues Helping parents and carers to support their child's reading skills - with our Early Childhood Education Services that develop literacy in under-7s while encouraging parents and carers to participate in their child's reading growth Parenting and Child Development Group Education - parenting education to help parents and carers to better support the development and growth of their children, delivered in a group setting Household Management Skills - providing practical information, advice and support to help caregivers to regain and maintain control over their household management More information is available about each program by clicking on the links above, or by contacting Family Services between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday on 1300 361 680. |
