Becoming a better father, partner and ex-partner
The program also provides important support to change how they behave with current or future partners. Who is eligible for Men's Behaviour Change Support? Our Men's Program workers will conduct several interviews to see if the program suits your needs, and that the applicant has some level of commitment to change. The workers will: •meet two times with the applicant, encouraging the person to discuss their situation, their behaviour, and things that they want to change •contact any women and children who have family or intimate relationships with the applicant •give the applicant information about how the program operates Contacting the women and children in the applicant's life is a condition of joining the program as all women and children experiencing anger-related relationship problems with the applicant are likely to need some support. Indicators of controlling or violent behaviour in family relationships: Are you acting like the boss? Are you saying or doing things that you feel bad about later? Are you trying to control everything? Are you lashing out with your tongue or your fists? Are you making your partner or kids scared of you? Is your relationship being affected? Are you hurting the people you love most?
Men's Behaviour Change Support is a joint program between Brophy Family and Youth Services and Community Connections. |

Men's Behaviour Change Support is a program for men who have been violent or controlling to past or current partners and are wanting to make changes to their behaviour. The program gives men an opportunity to talk about their actions and provides strategies for change in the context of the impact that their behaviour is having on their partner and children.
